         There are still a lot of natural and historical places here in Carcar that is why many people come and go for a vacation. Not to mention, our place is considered as the shoe capital in Cebu, where you can find as well a gigantic shoe.

           Then, we have the famous rotunda-gateway to the south as many people would call it. Another one is the very ancient dispensary,lol, which by the way was converted to the Carcar City Museum and the statue of Leon Kilat. What else??? I think there is still a lot but those are only the stuff I can share.

            But what is also great here in our place are the people who are very hospitable, like any Filipinos are. The Carcaranons are also hard working and strives hard in life to succeed, like me, hehehehheh. That made me a pure Carcaranon and an anime addict...

           

my birthplace part 2...

             You may have read the first part of this but there is more that i can say regarding my birthplace...there's more than its structures and it includes the tasty and delicious delicacy that can only be found in Carcar. We have chicharon (pork skin cracklings), ampaw (puffed rice) and bucarillo, which is made of young coconut and coated with sugar.

            I was born in Carcar City, Cebu. Actually it was a town before, located 40 kilometers from Cebu City to the southern area. I think it is an hour and a half ride coming from the Cebu City South Bus Terminal. Carcar became a city last July 7, 2007 and it was such an issue when it comes to its city hood along with the other cities here in Cebu but anyway all is well and done since we have just celebrated  its 4th charter day last week or so with lots of fireworks across the midnight sky.

             Carcar is a home of various Spanish-American Structure and I have seen tourist who goes in and out in this city to see and be amazed of these architectural structures. To name a few we have here the famous Balay na Tisa.

                 

               This is a heritage house, which basks in the heart of the city.  Balay Na Tisa is also dubbed as the House of Tiles.  This old house is one of the best and painstakingly refurbished ancestral houses.  Balay na Tisa was built in 1859 by Valencia and Noel families, thus making it as the oldest structure in the city.  The house is of colonial inspired architecture wherein it reflects opulence and regal ambiance. This house shows elegance at night when all lights are lighted up, especially during special occasions like fiesta and holy week. You bet, passing alone at night in that house is also creepy.

                Another old houses in Carcar includes Balay na Kinulit and the Dakung Balay.

 Balay na Kinulit - a house that is made of carved woods.  It never fails to attract foreign or local tourists.  This heritage house is situated in Liburon, Carcar City.  Balay Na Kinulit is one of the famous tourist spots in the city.

 Dakung Balay - also known as the Big House.  The house has an impressive wooden flight of stairs, which connects the stonewalled ground floor to the wooden second storey structure.

               Aside from those  Spanish-American Structures, was the Saint Catherine of Alexandria Parish Church. 

This church is inspired by a Greek-Orthodox style since the main facade of the parish church has domes with two bell towers that are similar to the bell towers of churches of the Greek Orthodox religion. This is best admired because of its Moorish influenced architecture, Greco-Roman altar and twin bell towers that is reminiscent of minarets like those of Muslim mosque.

I have seen a lot of people amazed by its structures especially those historians and foreign artists and many tourist are so curious to take pictures of this historical place. You see, this church has a ceiling with beautiful symmetrical drawings and decorations that I wouldn't fail to gaze around while attending a mass.
